A wet Wednesday night…

When Matt and I first talked about setting up in business together, I was both excited and, I have to admit, sick to my stomach. Yes, of course there are all the positives: we work for ourselves, we choose what to do, and how. But what about the dark-side? What if we have no clients? And where, and how, do we get started?

Fortunately, I have two Millennial children (full of opinion!) to egg me on while, between Matt and I, it seems we have managed to colour in the white spaces in each other’s start-up knowledge.

Most of all, I have made my peace with the fact that what we offer will not be for everyone. Some will be drawn to the experience, knowledge and strong values. Others will run screaming from the ‘oil major view’. I get that. But - if you’re the running away and screaming type - why don’t you give us a call anyway? We have long exposure to both ends (hands-on operations and management) of the telescope. And, if the question is, ‘Have they done it on a wet Wednesday night in Stoke?’ - a euphemism for when times were much, much harder - the answer is a resounding ‘yes’.

We bring experience of: contracting; contracting out; benchmarking across many sectors of the industry; and vetting. We know how to get to a safe, assured, efficient result several different ways (and we know about, and steer well clear of, the several other ways not to do it!). And we know, very practically, about OCIMF and SIGTTO best practice.

The short version? I’m applying my knowledge, and Matt is applying his, to making the industry we love safer, more efficient and sustainable.

So if your wet Wednesday night is proving particularly foul, then please call. I promise you, we can help.
