Mark Fortnum
Mark is a chartered Master Mariner and holds an MBA with Distinction from London City University. He has 35 years of broad marine operational and strategic experience, in shipping and marine terminals through 2 energy majors and marine contracting. He's been a marine pilot, port manager, ship/terminal assessor, assurer and auditor; led global commercial, technical and crew manning organisations; and held industry board level appointments at leading maritime best practice organisations OCIMF, SIGTTO and the MNTB. Mark established stonefort marine consultancy with Matt in 2021.

bp Shipping Vice President Technical and Vetting (global team assessment/approval of all bp group hydrocarbon carrying vessels; 3rd party companies and marine terminal suitability; marine expertise for group wide marine oil and LNG projects).
VP Safety & Operational Risk/Group Marine Director (marine policy, risk/reward assessment & assurance of bp group wide marine risk; accountable for Board reporting).
Early career: Seafaring officer on Shell oil/LNG vessels before moving ashore into a range of ports and terminals, NGO, commercial and management roles.
Matt Stoney
Matt holds an MBA from HULT (Ashridge) university, with Distinction. A former Seafarer, he sailed as Chief Engineer Officer on internationally traded oil & gas tankers, before moving ashore in 2006. An experienced leader across a broad set of industry disciplines, objective influencer, communicator & change-agent. He has a proven track record of challenging the ‘normal’, generating new ideas & delivering value-add results through people. After a 30-year bp career, that includes time with Joint Venture partners, Matt set-up stonefort marine consultancy with Mark in 2021.

bp shipping Director, Singapore (regional business & team leadership).
Early career: Dual Officer Cadet to Chief Engineer Officer, before moving ashore as Engineer Superintendent, bp Fleet Technical Manager, General Manager bp Maritime Services & Director Singapore.
